Saffron in health

Saffron is great for regulating mood and therefore, makes you feel less stressed and less anxious. Hence why Saffron is sometimes referred as the ‘Sunshine spice’. Saffron has been in use within many traditional medications to cure depression and in some recent modern studies, it was concluded that Saffron was significantly better than Placebo in helping improve mood.

How to use Saffron:

  • Add 4 Saffron strands into your drinking water (1 lt).
  • Leave it aside until water turns goldish (10-15 mins for warm water and 60-75 mins for cold water).
  • Stir and its ready to drink.

 

Weight loss:

Various studies have shown that Saffron helps reduce appetite which indirectly helps reduce weight when combined with a balanced diet. Simply add Saffron to water and drink as part of your daily water intake. Alternately, you can add Saffron into warm milk and add to your morning porridge.

Saffron is widely used in many Asian and Middle eastern traditions as a natural skin care ingredient. Saffron can be mixed with Sandalwood powder and couple of teaspoons of milk to create a paste than can be applied to skin. It can help with natural skin glow as well as fight pigmentation.

Saffron is not just great for mental health but many study have concluded that Saffron increases arousal and lubrication among woman who had saffron which is even higher vs women who on placebo.

 

Saffron in cooking 

Above all, Saffron is known as the gold of spices which uplifts any recipe with beautiful aroma and natural vibrant goldish hue. Saffron can be used in many commonly known recipes such as rice, paste, biryani, paella, rosette as well as in tea, milk, porridge. Simply soak 5-8 saffron strands in 8 teaspoons of hot water for 10 mins to extract the flavour. Add to your recipes and enjoy the wonderful aroma.
